Matter
Anything that has mass and takes up space.
Unit 1
Atom
The smallest unit of an element that keeps that element's properties, made of protons, neutrons, and electrons.
Unit 2
Periodic table
The chart organizing elements by increasing atomic number into rows (periods) and columns (groups) of similar properties.
Unit 3
Chemical bond
A force holding atoms together in a compound, formed when atoms gain, lose, or share electrons to reach stable electron arrangements.
Unit 4
Mole
The SI unit for amount of substance: one mole contains 6.02 x 10^23 particles of that substance.
Unit 5
Chemical reaction
A process in which reactants are rearranged into new substances (products), shown by a chemical equation.
Unit 6
Stoichiometry
Using the mole ratios in a balanced equation to relate amounts of reactants and products.
Unit 7
Kinetic molecular theory
The model that gas particles are in constant random motion, that collisions are elastic, and that kinetic energy is proportional to temperature.

What is a starter deck?

A premade vocabulary deck for a regular (non-AP) high-school course. The official deck is read-only — you copy it to My Sets and the copy is fully yours: add your class's words, delete what you already know.

Do I need an account to use a starter deck?

No. Guests can browse and study. Copying a deck to My Sets works as a guest too, but the copy lives on that device only — a free account keeps it and syncs it across devices.

How does the scheduling work?

Rycal uses SM-2 spaced repetition: after each flashcard you rate it Still Learning or Know, and your ratings decide when that card comes back. Add your test date to the Test Planner and pacing compresses as the test approaches — nothing is ever scheduled past test day.

Is this aligned to my state's standards?
